James Macdonald is renowned for staging plays by contemporary playwrights. Among his many world premieres he directed Sarah Kane’s Blasted, Cleansed and 4.48 Psychosis, as well as Caryl Churchill’s Love and Information, Drunk Enough To Say I Love You and Glass. Kill. Bluebeard. Imp.

In this Masterclass, James will share his toolkit for directing new work and his top tips for collaborating with writers. An essential session for directors, playwrights and theatre makers interested in understanding the creative process of bringing new work from page to stage.

Please note: This Masterclass will now take place at The Theatre Royal Haymarket.
