Paul Arditti has been designing sound for theatre since 1983. He currently combines his post as Head of Sound at the Royal Court Theatre (where he has designed more than 60 productions) with regular freelance projects.
At the Royal Court recent sound designs include: Mouth To Mouth, Spinning Into Butter, I Just Stopped By To See The Man, My Zinc Bed, Far Away (and West End); 4.48 Psychosis, Fireface, Mr. Kolpert, The Force Of Change, Hard Fruit, Dublin Carol, The Kitchen, Rat In The Skull, Some Voices, Mojo, The Weir, The Steward Of Christendom, Shopping And Fucking, Blue Heart (with Out of Joint); The Chairs (with Theatre de Complicite), Via Dolorosa, Cleansed.
Other productions include: Doctor Doolittle, Piaf, The Threepenny Opera, Light (Complicite); Our Lady Of Sligo (Out of Joint/RNT); Some Explicit Polaroids (Out of Joint); Hamlet, The Tempest (RSC); Orpheus Descending, Cyrano De Bergerac, St. Joan (West End).
Paul won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Sound Design in 1992 for Four Baboons Adoring The Sun on Broadway.
