Helen Edmondson

Helen¹s first play, Flying, was produced at The National Theatre
Studio in 1990.  Since then her work for theatre has included: The Clearing, first performed at the Bush Theatre; Mother Teresa Is Dead, at The Royal Court; and four stage adaptations for Shared Experience Theatre - Anna Karenina and Mill On The Floss both of which toured nationally and internationally, War And Peace, which was produced at The National Theatre in 1996, and Gone To Earth  which was seen on tour and at The Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith in 2004.

The Clearing received the John Whiting Award for best new play, as well as a
Time Out Award and has been performed in many countries around the world.
Helen also won T.M.A and Time Out Awards for Mill On The Floss and Anna Karenina.

Helen¹s most recent play, Coram Boy, adapted from the novel by Jamila Gavin, was in the Olivier at the National Theatre earlier this year (2006) and will return in November. It won the Time Out Award for best play and was
nominated for four Olivier Awards, including best play.

Helen has written two short films for television: One Day (BBC 2) and Stella
(Channel 4).
