Oliver Ford Davies

Oliver Ford Davies spent two years as a lecturer at Edinburgh University before embarking on an acting career in 1976. That career has included seasons at Birmingham, Cambridge, Leicester, Nottingham and Oxford and early appearances in the West End.

Between 1975/86 Oliver Ford Davies performed in 25 productions with the RSC including CORIOLANUS, AS YOU LIKE IT, THE GREEKS and WASTE. He also performed with the RSC at the Barbican in THE DANTON AFFAIR, PRINCIPIA SCRIPTORIAE, IL CANDELAIO and THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR.

Performances at the National Theatre include The David Hare Trilogy (RACING DEMON, MURMERING JUDGES, ABSENCE OF WAR); THE SHAUGHRAUN; HAMLET; THE SHAPE OF THE TABLE.

Other recent theatre includes KING CROMWELL (Orange Tree); ABSOLUTELY! PERHAPS (Wyndhams); KING LEAR (Almeida Theatre); RICHARD II, CORIOLANUS (Almeida at the Gainsborough Studios); LARKIN WITH WOMEN (Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough); NAKED (Almeida & Playhouse); IVANOV (Almeida & Moscow); VIRTUOSO (Wolsey, Ipswich); RACING DEMON (Los Angeles); THE OLD COUNTRY (Watford Palace Theatre); HEARTBREAK HOUSE (Theatre Royal Haymarket).

TV appearances include: five series as Head of Chambers in KAVANAUGH QC; SPARKLING CYANIDE; SPOOKS, FOYLE'S WAR; THE WAY WE LIVE NOW; INSPECTOR MORSE; DAVID COPPERFIELD; THE MURDER OF ROGER ACKROYD; A DANCE TO THE MUSIC OF TIME; A TASTE FOR DEATH, THE CLONING OF JOANNA MAY, A VERY BRITISH COUP; ROSEMARY & THYME II; MURDER; BERTIE AND ELIZABETH; SIRENS; SUNDAY; A CHRISTMAS CAROL; HEARTBEAT; THE UNINVITED; PIE IN THE SKY, WYCLIFFE.
