As a director, writer or producer, opening opportunities for actors to do their best can allow your vision and work to become far greater than the sum of its parts.
Kerry Fox will be leading a practical workshop aimed at directors, producers and writers – though actors are also welcome to come along.
Friends Scheme members are welcome to attend this session, but please note that Kerry would like the active involvement of all attendees in the workshop. There is not an opportunity to observe.
Kerry Fox won international acclaim for her first starring role, in Jane Campion’s An Angel at My Table and then starred in Danny Boyle’s breakout film Shallow Grave. She won the Silver Bear for Best Actress for her performance in Patrice Chéreau’s adaptation of Hanif Kureishi’s Intimacy.
Kerry’s other film credits include Welcome to Sarajevo, Patrick’s Day, Storm, Bright Star, Holding The Man, The Dressmaker and Top End Wedding.
Kerry qualified as a teacher of drama way back in the last century! She has developed a particular interest and speciality of delivering masterclasses to filmakers (directors, writers and producers) on working with actors - in order to dispel the fears and negative myths that surround the acting experience. She has taught at The BFI London International Film Festival as part of their Think-Shoot-Distribute programme, at the Berlinale, at The Edinburgh International Film Festival, at Bellrock and for Scottish Screen.
