Fanny Eaton needs money and the ‘bad boys’ of British Art, the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, need new models. Fanny begins posing for the beguiling Dante Gabriel Rossetti. Both feel themselves to be outsiders in Britain – she hails from Jamaica, his family from Italy. But what do they see in each other? Who is in control as the paintings emerge? This is not a love story. It is a passion play. Uncovering powerful themes of race, beauty and identity, it explores what it means to look and be looked at – again and again and again.
This Script Session is currently full. However you can apply for future sessions here.
Script Sessions give playwrights the opportunity to meet with other young creatives and receive feedback on their scripts.
These very relaxed and informal sessions give playwrights valuable early feedback, while young actors get to practice their table reading skills, directors can share their vision for the piece and designers create quick response sketches. It's a great chance to network with other creatives, and give feedback on new work.
