David Jones worked in the City of London in investment banking for over thirty years, most recently as Managing Director & Global Head of Foreign Exchange Trading for National Australia Bank. David is an avid traveller and has travelled extensively around the globe.

David became introduced to Masterclass in 2006 through Arts and Business as he was keen to engage with and help young people through the world of theatre and is proud to have been involved with Masterclass for the past thirteen years. The highlight of his involvement with Masterclass has so far been the success of The Two Worlds of Charlie F, a play created as a way of using theatre to support the recovery process of wounded injured and sick Service personnel. David is also passionate about supporting young people through hands-on training opportunities and during this time has felt incredibly rewarded by the success of The Apprentice Scheme, which supports emerging talent through paid apprenticeships on West End productions.

David is also involved in many local community projects. He was recently elected Chairman of the new North Cray & District Royal British Legion Branch and is a committee member of the North Cray Residents Association which has a 75 year history. He is also involved in sponsorship and supporting local sports clubs, Welling United FC and Sidcup RFC.

“It is wonderful to be involved with something outside of the ‘noise’ of the financial world that is so worthwhile and supports so many young people".
