Mentees will each be paired with an experienced mentor in their chosen field, to benefit from advice, introductions, coaching and support.

Drawing from Jermyn Street Theatre's family of freelancers, we have selected a diverse group of very experienced mentors who are currently working across genres and are eager to support the next generation of creatives.

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, the programme will take place remotely (with the possibility of in-person contact at the discretion of the mentor and in line with government guidelines).
We have places in the following disciplines:
• Director x1
• Set and Costume Design x2
• Movement Director x1
• Lighting Design x1
• Sound Design x1
• Stage Management x1
• Producer x1
• Costume Supervisor x1

Criteria for Applying

This opportunity is open to anyone aged 18-30 with 1-3 years' experience in the theatre or creative industries*.

Successful mentoring depends on a good fit between mentor and mentee, so our application process is mainly designed to get a feel for each individual, their motivation and their goals, and ensure that mentors are well placed to provide support. Mentees will be picked based on an attitude to learning and not solely on previous experience or educational background.

How to Apply

To apply please use the form below. You will also be prompted to upload a short CV. If you have any problems completing the form, click here to email the Masterclass team.

The closing date for applications is Friday 12th March.

*Normally 1-3 years post-graduation or, if you have not had formal training, 1-3 years since first work in the industry. However this is just a guideline, so if you feel that you would benefit from mentoring despite having had a different career trajectory, you are welcome to apply.

Likewise, if you are aged over 30 but with only 1-3 years' experience, you are welcome to apply, making sure to explain any factors that have limited your ability to work in the industry.

The programme will take place over 3 months, with 8 hours mentoring time in total.
