Actor & writer Paul Westwood led a live Q&A over on our Instagram on Friday 29 May.

As an actor, Paul offered advice on looking for a new agent, approaching casting directors, auditioning and self tape technique and keeping performances fresh during long runs. As a writer, he spoke about structuring a play, finding a venue for your rehearsed reading and a director and producer for your play.

About Paul

Paul Westwood is an actor and writer from Birmingham. He trained at Guildhall School of Music & Drama. He also attended Royal Holloway, University of London, and Boston College, USA.

As an actor his stage credits include: King Charles III (UK & Sydney), Dunsinane (RSC world tour), Gaslight (BKL UK Tour), Lazarus (King’s Cross Theatre) and mostly recently Blood Brothers (BKL UK Tour, 2020).  

Paul’s screen credits include: McMafia (BBC), Da Vinci’s Demons (STARZ) and Us & Them (NETFLIX).

As a writer: Paul has penned the award-winning thriller Skin In The Game (Old Red Lion & UK Tour, 2019), And The Winner Is...? (Vault Festival, 2018) and Citizen Recall: Mrs Helen Stridgen (Vault Festival, 2017).  

His forthcoming work includes The Living Dolls, which will now play at the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh 2021 and 12, Hyde Park Square (due to be staged in London next year), both directed by his long term collaborator Clemmie Reynolds.
