About Reece

Reece Shearsmith’s prolific career as both an actor and writer encompasses extensive theatre, film & television credits.
Theatre work includes A Very Expensive Poison (The Old Vic), Hangmen (Royal Court), Absent Friends, Betty Blue Eyes, Ghost Stories, The Producers, As You Like It, Art (all West End) and A Local Show for Local People (National Tour).
His many television credits include Hunderby, Inside Number 9 (as lead actor & co-writer and co-director), The Widower, The Hollow Crown: Henry IV, Pt 2, Psychoville, Eric & Ernie, New Tricks, Ladies and Gentlemen, Marple: Ordeal by Innocence, The Abbey and Spaced.
Films include High Rise, A Field in England, Burke & Hare, The League of Gentlemen’s Apocalypse and Shaun of the Dead.
Reece has won many awards, particularly for The League of Gentlemen, including the Royal Television Society Award for Comedy Performance, British Comedy Award, South Bank Show Award, BAFTA, Golden Rose of Montreux and a Perrier Award.
