Ella is an award-winning writer whose work has been performed throughout the UK and abroad.

Her play Oil opened at The Almeida Theatre in 2017 and The Writer opened there in 2018. Her most recent show, Anna, developed in collaboration with sound designers Ben and Max Ringham, opened at the National Theatre this year. Ella is currently developing new work for The Old Vic and the Manhattan Theatre Club while also developing various projects for TV and film.

Ella was a Thornton Wilder Fellow, and has twice been a MacDowell Colony Fellow.
