BAFTA nominated actor Daniel Mays was born in Epping, Essex and trained at RADA. Since graduating in 2000, he has won critical acclaim for roles in a diverse range of films, TV & theatre productions.
His theatre work includes Trelawny of the Wells, The Same Deep Water as Me and Moonlight (all at Donmar), Mojo (Harold Pinter Theatre), Ladybird, Motortown, The Winterling, Scarborough and Hero (all at Royal Court), The Red Lion (NT) and The Caretaker (Old Vic).
Numerous television credits include Funland, Red Riding, The Street, Ashes to Ashes, Public Enemies, Mrs Biggs, Common, The Great War: The People’s Story, The Great Fire, Line of Duty, Against the Law, Born to Kill, Mother’s Day, Good Omens, Temple, White Lines, Des and Magpie Murders.
Daniel’s films include Mike Leigh’s All or Nothing and Vera Drake, Atonement, Shifty, Made in Dagenham, The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, Victor Frankenstein, Dad’s Army, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Two for Joy, Fisherman’s Friends and 1917.
