John Simm’s prolific career encompasses extensive theatre, film & television credits.
His theatre work includes Pinter’s The Homecoming and The Hothouse at Trafalgar Studios, Patrick Marber’s adaptation of Turgenev’s Three Days in the Country at the National Theatre, Andrew Bovell’s Speaking in Tongues at the Duke of York’s, Pinter’s Betrayal and the title role in Shakespeare’s Hamlet at Sheffield Crucible and Simon Bent’s Goldhawk Road and Elling (for which he received an Olivier award nomination for Best Actor) at The Bush.
John’s numerous television credits include Prey, The Village, playing ‘The Master’ in Doctor Who, the hugely popular Life on Mars (BAFTA nomination for Best Actor in a leading role), The Devil’s Whore, Sex Traffic, Crime & Punishment, Exile (Best Actor BAFTA nomination), State of Play, Clocking Off, The Lakes and Cracker.
John has starred in three Michael Winterbottom films, the critically acclaimed Wonderland, 24 Hour Party People and Everyday. Other films include Human Traffic, Skellig, Blue/Orange, Miranda and Boston Kickout (Best Actor Award, Valencia Film Festival).
