We are inviting applications for an exciting new six month paid internship role here at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, West End as a Junior Theatre Technician.

This is a fantastic entry level opportunity for someone interested in electrics, woodwork, and/or carpentry. You will be working full time at the Theatre Royal Haymarket for six months, mentored by our in-house electrical and carpentry teams, and receiving support from the Masterclass team. You will begin with an 8 week internship, followed by a four month employed role to learn and practise the skills needed to pursue a career backstage in theatre. You will gain in experience across many roles backstage, from carpentry to lighting, sound and automation, with the option to focus on whichever skill interests you.

This is an entry level role, and therefore suitable for people who have no formal theatre training - you do not need any experience of working in a theatre to apply. You will receive appropriate skills training and a workplace reference for future employment.

Criteria for Applying

Candidates should ideally have a Level One qualification (or equivalent) in carpentry, woodwork, electrics or similar. This is not essential.

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who have not received any formal theatre training.
