The Time Traveller's Wife, Paid Assistant Director Internship (CLOSED)

July 12, 2022

We are inviting applications for a paid Assistant Director Intern to work on The Time Traveller’s Wife at Storyhouse Chester.

The successful candidate will work as an Assistant Director Intern, under award-winning Director Bill Buckhurst (Sister Act The Musical, Sweeney Todd).

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and contribute to the commercial production of a brand new musical.

The role will be varied and will range from observing and assisting during rehearsals, to supporting the 'get in' at Storyhouse Chester. This opportunity is ideal for an early career director looking to make the transition from small-scale productions to larger, commercial, touring productions.

This will be the world premiere of this new musical, based on Audrey Niffenegger’s international sensation – The Time Traveller’s Wife – a best-selling novel and world-wide hit film. Brought to life on stage with music and lyrics by global superstar Joss Stone and multi Grammy Winner Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart, and from the acclaimed West End producers of Back to The Future and Ghost, this is a heart-racing and devastatingly gorgeous theatrical journey like no other.

Candidates should:

  • Have had some training and/or have worked as a Director on at least two productions (perhaps Fringe/pub theatre)
