Marcy Kahan is an award-winning playwright and has written extensively for the BBC. She uses journals for every project she works on. In this intimate session, Marcy will talk about her love of notebooks for collating research, planning, and focusing the writing process.
The Noel Coward Archive contains 48 notebooks that Coward created in the early years of his career – an invaluable glimpse into the mind of one of Britain's favourite playwrights. As part of this session, Marcy will give a short talk about Coward, his social context, writing process and his own use of notebooks. A fantastic opportunity for members to leaf through the scribbles that became world-famous scripts!
