Biog
Mina trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in Acting and Musical Theatre.
Her many theatre credits include: The Understudy (West End), Shirley Valentine (Bolton Octagon), Life of Pi (Sheffield Crucible & West End), Everybody’s Talking About Jamie (Sheffield Crucible & West End), Twelfth Night (Royal Exchange Theatre), The Infidel – The Musical (Theatre Royal Stratford East), Hard Times (Library Theatre Manchester), Romeo and Juliet (Nottingham Playhouse), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Nottingham Playhouse), The Vagina Monologues (West End/No.1 Tour), Victoria Wood’s Talent (No. 1 Tour), King Lear (Sheffield Crucible), Skeleton (Soho Theatre), The Iron Man (Young Vic Theatre) and Hair (Broadway Musical Company New York & European Tour).
Mina’s numerous TV credits include: Moving On, The Worst Witch, Doctor Who, The A Word, Upstart Crow, Scott and Bailey, Happy Valley, A Passionate Woman, The Sarah Jane Adventures, The Invisibles, Shameless, Love Soup, Best Friends, Doctors and Nurses, Birthday Girl, A&E, A Christmas Carol and The Thin Blue Line.
Film credits include: The Infidel, Maybe Baby and Flight.
Radio credits include: Ed Reardon’s Week, Trust, Winter Jasmine, Tristram Shandy, Fags, Mags and Bags, Rage, Alone Quiz Nite, Breaking the Silence Trilogy and Time and Tune.
Mina also directed and choreographed the musical The Dolly Mixtures at the Customs House Theatre in South Shields and most recently directed and performed in the critically acclaimed filmed theatre production of a new northern adaptation of The Importance of Being Earnest at The Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield.
As well as her varied career in theatre, television, film and radio, Mina also sings in bands. One of her career highlights was singing live with her favourite Manchester band, The Charlatans, on Later with Jools Holland. She sings big band jazz and swing and is a regular lead vocalist with The Suburban Swing Orchestra in Greater Manchester.
Mina also has a Psychology degree, is a tutor in Performing Arts and is a strong advocate for using creative arts for education and mental health in the community.
