Steve has toured extensively as a stand-up comic performing a number of his own characters, most recognisably as Alan Partridge, whose programmes include a 2014 film and two series for the BBC. In 1992 Steve won the Perrier Award at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Steve’s film work includes The King of Soho, 24 Hour Party People, The Parole Officer, Marie Antionette, Despicable Me 2, Night at the Museum, and My Idiot Brother. His latest feature film credits include writing and starring in Philomena, which garnered four Oscar nominations.
His television work includes The Trip to Italy, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Saxondale, Coogan’s Run, The Day Today, and Sunshine. He won a BAFTA in 1993 for his role in Paul Calf’s Video Diary.
Since 1999, Steve’s production company Baby Cow Productions has produced several award winning programs including The Mighty Boosh, Gavin and Stacey and more recently, Hunderby, Moone Boy, and Hebburn.
